Galangal, Pungent

Regular price $29.20

We are excited to offer and cut down the confusion of a Galangal. We are now going to carry two different types. There is a third Galangal that we hope to carry at some point too. We found out a few years back that Galangal changed. We were no longer finding sweeter more fragrant galangal, but a much more pungent smelling one. Suppliers were still calling it Galgangal. We found out this is the more common Galangal used in Indonesia and India. Thailand tends to like to use the sweeter Galangal. Both plants are so similar that you would need to have them side up side to see the differences. Pungent Galangal has broader leaves and bigger roots than the sweeter one.
