Pennyroyal Essential Oil (European)
Details
Pennyroyal is usually blended with Lemon Eucalyptus and Tea Tree as a flea preventive that is sprayed on dogs. It can also be used on carpets and furniture to treat for fleas. We use European Pennyroyal in our Labor Ezzz blend to help bring about contractions and deliver the baby. There is an American Pennyroyal (Hedeoma pulegoides). We can no longer find a source for the oil. Both are very closely related chemically as both have high pulgeone, an abortive. It seems the plant has taken on a protective status from the state of California and the growing and selling of this oil is now very expensive.
