There are eighteen other species of this tree on Madagascar. There is some confusion about the scientific name of this tree. It was erroneously called Cinnamonum camphora because its sister tree (Ravensara aromatica) smells like the camphor tree. It was thought that all the species were camphor trees, which is inaccurate.
