Calming Labor (1/3 oz)

When labor begins there is lightening. This is when the baby has shifted positions and is in place to make his way down the birthing canal. This can happen right before birth or a few weeks prior to. Many women find that they have to go to the restroom more often to urinate. There will also be a passing of the mucus plug. Throughout the entire pregnancy a mucous plug builds up where the cervix. As the cervix dilates, the mucous is then released through the vagina. It can be clear, pink or even somewhat bloody. Once the mucous plug has been released, labor can start almost immediately or one to two weeks after. The bag of water may break which means contractions will start soon thereafter. It is very important at this time that the woman stay active and calm. Pain at this time will be lessened if the mother can relax.
