Healing at your finger tips
As I look back on this summer, I realize that Oregano has played an important role in many blends for various reasons.
This is an essential oil that capable of prompting healing with a small amount amended to other essential oils. I have had great success using it for skin, bacterial, viral, ear aches and respiratory issues. This essential oil lends itself in a variety of applications from ointments, sprays, diffusers to simpler blends applied topically.
As my grandson stays with us quite a bit and is very active, there are many occasions daily he comes to me for ‘repair’ as he puts it! For this reason I keep several methods of application handy. If I am in the yard and he needs help ‘stat’ he knows which ones to reach for. Generally though, he is happiest displaying his wounds for treatment. He had told me Friday, “I’d like to not hurt but keep some scars, can you do that MiMi, girls really like scars?” I was taken off guard by this! Oh they grow too quickly! I explained to him that what helped take the pain also helped regenerate new skin as it healed. Most are happy to have such a combination at their fingertips. As you can guess, not much thought was needed before the painless factor won out and he quickly presented his newly acquired wounds for treatment.
As I was applying the blend, I was thinking of all the children and adults that could benefit from such blends. With this in mind I would like to share a simple blend to provide a helping hand as you supply the love.
Lavender and Tea Tree in equal parts with a 1 % addition of Oregano added. To this an additional 1 % of many other analgesic and antiseptic oils can further improve this basic blend. In our home we keep a large spray bottle for generous applications. This blend will quickly cleanse and treat in one quick step. Its analgesic action makes it great for an almost instant relief from many types of injuries; when used throughout the healing stages, scarring can be minimal to none. If a gentler essential oil is needed for a very young or old person, consider Rosalina in place of the Lavender and Tea Tree.
The human body is a miraculous well oiled machine when we are healthy, but when we are not or experience occasional accidents, it can be a comfort to know we have means to help remedy these ‘hiccups’ in our busy lives. By no means are essential oils meant to replace doctor’s care, should it be necessary, but definitely are a way to perpetuate good health and even prevent a wide range of maladies. They can work with our bodies without producing harsh side effects and can even work to reduce the side effects experienced in our daily lives. Creativity as to how you might best work them into your daily routine can become an intriguing venture. As you learn each essential oils virtues you may be surprised at their versatility and seemingly endless uses!
Until next Thyme, abundant blessings to all and should you have any questions, remember to…..
