Vanilla Maceration

Common Name: Vanilla

Scientific Name: Vanilla planifolia

Part of Plant Used: Fermented Beans

Constituents: Fractionated Coconut Oil, Essential Oils, Flavonoids

General Information: Vanilla is a native of Mexico. The plant is part of the orchid family and there are special bees Mexico that pollinate only the vanilla plant. This plant has been taken to many parts of the world but must be hand pollinated, as the bees will not live in any other place other than Mexico. In Aromatherapy, Vanilla is not a true essential oil but an oleoresin. This makes it very difficult to blend with other water-based products. The maceration is much more user friendly.

Physical Properties: Aphrodisiac, calming, emmenagogue, and sedative.

Emotional and Spiritual Properties: Can indicate that you have come through some tough times and have handled it very well. Vanilla signals a pat on the back or a well done from Spirit. You are doing well and going in the right direction. You have more to do, so do not quit. You will be successful.

Application: Use in perfumes especially aphrodisiac formulas. Use to reduce stress, promote sleep, uplift mood, and strengthen the female sexual system. Use in bath and massage formulas to calm. This maceration can be used in cooking.
