Scientific Name: Jasminum officinale

Part of Plant Used: Fresh Flowers

Constituents: Fractionated Coconut Oil, Essential Oils

General Information: This species is not the sombac jasmine of India. This jasmine is more of a vine while the sombac is happier as a scrub. Both have beautiful star flowers with beautiful fragrance. The Chinese use the J. officinale to treat hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, and dysentary. In the west it was used to calm and help support the nervous system and reproductive system.

Physical Properties: Aphrodisiac, antidepressant

Emotional and Spiritual Properties: Feeling down and depressed not yourself. Jasmine will help you regain a better feeling about yourself and it will feel good to be noticed. Can indicate you have hidden a part of yourself away perhaps because of trauma or sexual abuse. Time to reclaim yourself especially your sexy, attractive part. Jasmine will help you develop the intuitive part of yourself as well as accepting the earth in all its grandeur both good and bad. Hurricanes can create a great deal of damage but when seen form above, they are beautiful cloud formations. Jasmine helps us to see perspective in the bad things that happen to us.

Applications: Great carrier for an aphrodisiac blend. It will make a good oil for a salt rub. There is potential for many spa products. Using it will help the person feel prettier. Can be made into lotions, creams, ointments, and balms. This maceration can be used to extend your jasmine absolute and will actually improve the aroma.
