HISTORY INFORMATION: In Japan at winter solstice, they eat pumpkin and bathe in water with yuzu fruits. It is also used to prevent colds. In Japan, they use yuzu oil as a flavoring in vinegars, soups, seafood dishes, sauces, pickles, and salads. Shinto priests use it to purify the area in religious ceremonies and before prayers.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Yuzu is a citrus that is very cold hardy and it is resistant to rot so it is often used as root stock for other citrus. Yuzu is a cross between an orange and a grapefruit. It is tart but sweet with a high acid content. The oil here is a reconstituted blend which means that they have blended the chemicals to match the oil's profile. There are over 75 identified constituents.

DESCRIPTION OF PLANT: An evergreen tree growing to 15 ft. with white cram flowers producing yellow-green fruit that has a rough, bumpy peel.

PHYSICAL ACTIONS AND USES: Analgesic, antibiotic, antifungal, anti-infectious, antiseptic, calmative, diuretic, nervine, sedative, stimulant, tonic. Used for cystitis, constipation, cleaning, nervous stomach cramps, neuralgia, convalescence. Used to ease nervous tension and stress.
