HISTORY INFORMATION: Used in sacred druid religious ceremonies of the pre-Christian era . The name is derived from ancient Celtic word "fer" meaning to drive away and "faen" stone, the abiltiy to expel kidney stones. The Spanish explorers in Chile and Argentina brought it back to Europe. Emperor Maximilian of Mexico loved Verbena and enlarged his gardens with it. He even had it renamed yerba Lousia after his wife's mother. Sweetened with honey, yerba Lousia is still a popular drink in Meixco.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Lemon Verbena is a precious oil and is often not readily available. It can be adulertated with Lemon Thyme or Litsea Cubeba, or anything high in citral can be sold in its place.
