HISTORY INFORMATION: The Greeks and Romans used it as an incense to ward off evil spirits. Used for food, medicine, and magic. Medicinally it was used for respiratory disorders, digestion, nervous complaints, and muscular aches and pains. Rosemary was a symbol of love and used by brides to show they would always remember their families. In the Middle Ages, rosemary was burned to fumigate sickrooms to protect against infection. It was also used in courts to prevent the spread of jail fever. During the plague of 1665, the herb was carried in walking sticks to prevent infection.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Rosemary is a symbol of love, loyalty and eternity. The plant is also held as a symbol of remembrance. There is a huge variation in this oil, 8 chemotypes. There are four main chemotypes: camphor, cineol, verbenone, pyramidalis a combination of pinene and cineol. All are used for massage. Cineol and pyramidalis is used primarily for ear nose and throat problems. The verbenone is used to regulate the hypothalamic, pituitary, and sexual glands, and verbenone is considered an unknown ketone. The camphor is the most popular and commonly used, and sited here in uses. You can usually tell by smelling. Each of them have different uses. The flower essence refers to stimulating clear thinking resulting in a more united spiritual presence leading to creativity.

DESCRIPTION OF PLANT: A tender evergreen shrub growing to 6ft high with silvery-green, needle-shaped leaves with blue flowers.
