HISTORY INFORMATION: Its is one of the oldest and best known essential oils. Rose oil was mentioned in Ayuveda text 7000 years ago. Homer describes its in the Illiad as something Aphrodite anoints Hector with before going into battle. The first distillation was by the Arabs in 500 AD. Persians distilled so much rose that the rose water filled the canals leaving the oil on top this is Otto of Rose orginiated. The turks introduced it to Bulgaria. Knights also brought it back to their homelands during the Crusades

GENERAL INFORMATION: The highest valued Rose oil comes from Bulgaria. It can be adulterated with Palmorosa or cut with alcohol to increase the volume. The smell can be quite disappointing though. It does not smell as flowery or truly like a rose like the rose absolute. With natural parafins, it makes it extremely appropriate and better suited to mature and sentiive skin rather than the absolute.
