HISTORY INFORMATION: This plant is not native to The United States and has become an invasive weed endangering native species especially in the Florida's wet lands. It was first introduced here in 1906. In Australia, they use the trees as windbreaks especially on beaches. The papery bark is used as fruit packing material and torches. The oil of this tree is produced because of its high linalool content.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Nerolina has a 50/50 linalool and nerolidol content giving it a distinct lavender and liliac note. New evidence shows that the chemical constiuents vary greatly from two different regions of Australia. Queensland has 50/50 breakdown, but New South Wales has 30% linalool and 70% nerolidol. It is also a gentle oil and can be used on babies. Often confused with M. viridiflora.
