HISTORY INFORMATION: Possibly used by the Aztecs to dull the senses of sacrificial victims.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Tagetes is also known as marigold. Copper Daisy is a perennial, while most tagetes are annuals. Said to smell like ripe passion fruit.

DESCRIPTION OF PLANT: Perennial shrub growing to 5 ft. with light green, narrow, aromatic leaves producing yellow flowers in the fall.

COLOR RANGE: Bright yellow

CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS: Class: Ketone. Tagetone, dihydrotagetone and (Z)-ocimenone (up to 50%)

PHYSICAL ACTIONS AND USES: Under study. Looks like it could be a promising fragrance oil.
